Despite some egregious errors by the refs (on both ends) I was pleased to see UCLA advance; especially because I predicted them to beat Villanova for the national title. Anyone else feel bad for Adam Morrison?

In the event you have ever wondered what Chris Carrabba sounds like on the piano, you can download it here for free. You can also hear the worst DC song ever (i.e. Tonight I’ll Take What I Can Get), perhaps a dubious distinction given the band’s consistency. The exclusive tracks are a decent find for any DC fan but it is evident that Carrabba is orders of magnitude more talented with a Gibson in his hands.

How Do You Find Me? March 16, 2006

Every now and again I take a look at my blog stats so I can feel good about myself. I also get a good chuckle looking at some of the search engine entries used to find my blog:

-Myspace celebrity kiss

- Two lesbians french kissing

- Virginity blogs

-French kiss picture

-How to give a sensual french kiss

I think I may just do a post about that last one.

Watching South Medford defeat Jesuit proved to be the best second half of a basketball I have ever seen in my life. Sitting on the floor level at half court both nights only enhanced my viewing pleasure. However, the trip involved much more than basketball so I find it necessary to fill you in:

-In my estimation, any decent road-trip vacation in Oregon involves stokcing up at Trader Joe’s. This entailed spending just over $200 on some of the best groceries money can buy.

- While my intention was to develop a spring wardrobe, in the end denim ruled the day. I acquired my first pair of Armani jeans and complemented them with some of the best fitting jeans available from any couture.

- Finally, if you ever find yourself hungry in Eugene, I (without any mental reservation) recommend the Zenon Cafe. The restaurant is nominally French, the cuisine continental and the experience is outstanding. Just imagine dining on food fit for a gourmand as you are surrounded by works of modern art.

I Love My Mom March 14, 2006

Half an hour ago my mom walked up to me with a wet shirt in her hands and tears in her eyes. She accidentally bleached a new button-down shirt of mine while attempting to remove a stain. I told her not to worry about it. It is just a shirt and one that only cost $13.50 at Buffalo Exchange I might add. I gave her a hug and resumed making some toast. Not 10 minutes after that , my mom returned to me with a crisp $50 bill in her hands. I gracefully refused it. She passionately insisted. Perhaps I will now buy that 7 Diamonds shirt at La Boheme in Jacksonville. But to be quite honest, whatever that money goes toward pales in comparison with the fact that my momma loves me.

I just made a kick-ass mix of Armor For Sleep, Louis XIV and Brand New. I am heading up to Eugene to assemble a Spring wardrobe and to watch South capture that elusive state title in basketball. Wish me (and the boys) luck!

Perhaps you are looking for something palatable in the emo genre. To you I would suggest donning Armor For Sleep.

With the document I received in the mail today, I am no longer a proud member of the United States Air Force. This is a bittersweet juncture and at times like these I am apt to reflect. It was just about two years ago that I received another document from Colorado Springs. I remember it vividly. It was the night of my mom’s birthday and a party had been scheduled. Learning of my appointment as a cadet to the US Air Force Academy gave the celebration an added vigor. It was my validation, an incredible opportunity and at the same time a humbling sacrifice. I was no longer a big fish in a small pond. I was prepared, indeed excited to be average in every way. And as I sit here, jaded by reality, I cannot express how fukcing good I looked in dress blues. My war has gone by, I miss it so.

I fail to understand how Crash rounding out Brokeback Mountain for the best picture award constitutes an upset. The simple fact is that Crash is a far superior film. I applaud Hollywood for having the ability to recognize that there exist other, more sophisticated portrayals of homosexual subject matter.
