So I got an email from this guy named Justin Gordon tonight. He wants to buy my Fender Blues Junior Amp. From the looks of things, it is going to get some prime usage.

If you haven’t already had the pleasure of listening to the new Shins album, what are you waiting for? For my dollar, this is the best indie release of 2007.

You probably won’t like their new album Return To Cookie Mountain on your initial listen. It’s hard, avant-garde music that begs comparison with the likes of Arcade Fire or the Flaming Lips. It’s heartening to know that there are still bands making music that represents genuine artistry and is concerned little with the bottom line.

I’m long on Americana these days (the genuine stuff). The Who’s new release, their first in 24 years, is yet another great American album. Be sure to check it out soon to keep your music cred in balance.

The Decemberist’s new album is the perfect soundtrack to autumn. Toned down. Literate. Soulful. This is a great American album.

It seems that scientology has worked well for one Beck Hanson. After being tremendously disappointed by the new Killers album, I went out and picked up Beck’s The Information. This musical foire represents another landmark in Beck’s self-defined genre. I can only hope for some Guerolito-esque remixes.
